The main thing pointed at server play was the 21 day hordes that sphere made for us, because on an active server you could wind up with 3-4 hordes a day, which got really taxing after a while. we have some couples, and a few "groups" that come and go, but it's built for all. Thanks again and looking forward to 3.0!Įdit-2: thinking that buying the skill/perk that allows you to make nailgun parts could also grant you the ability to assemble one? Another SP thing since I never did find a nailgun book. Katana & Combat Axe easily 4 out of 5 head shots are one-shots. Looted a 600Q Spiked Club and lvl'd to 67 in Blunt, bought all perks, but almost never get a one-shot kill with club. But as is, the katana is hands down the best for SP horde night since you can actually effectively kill & harvest with same weapon. Do wish the Combat Axe had a similar bone yield. ![]() Blunt: friggin -love- the katana, it's reach and bone yield on gore blocks make it almost OP'd. To be clear I -really- enjoyed the playthrough & all the extra content! Sure you can stick around for another horde night, or try out another base build, but it's all optional, you're no longer stressing over anything. I think it would feel more satisfying to be able to cross all the T's and dot the i's when you reach that really solid "got 'er done!" point. Guess what I'm trying to convey (and again I totally see how this a SP thing and not the orginal design) is that the 'end' is a bit of a let down in SP. But the thought of another 100+ hours to get to lvl 180 isn't at all appealing. My vanilla playthroughs are likely only half the hours? so I think it's a big win to stretch a playthrough by so much, and I've really enjoyed it! Yet at the same time I'm feeling a bit disgruntled that I haven' maxed steel tools/weapon parts. So I guess I'm wondering how long should a single player playthrough be? Certainly there's no 'right' answer to that, heh. Plenty of food, 160K Dukes, decent store of raw mats etc. I'd _like_ to make better Steel tools and 500Q weapons, but I've got a very solid base, done four Classes (1st=Bows, 2nd=Blades, Rifles, Ultimate Survivor) have enough for three more Classes. the Chem Station is well, maybe a bit mean?Īfter the day 21 horde almost overran me I turned down spawn freq to 3-4 days I just couldn't get enough done with the seemingly constant interuptions.Ĭonvoluted bit: at 140 hours I'm pretty much 'finished'. I don't use Auger or Chainsaw (can't stand their noise), so might be missing that they fill the gap, but Steel Tools lvl gates. (Edit: should add I spent 35+ points, which I've never done, to hit 100) In SP the Construction skill lvl gates feel a bit high. (!!) Really glad to hear that you've added more info, that has been by far the most challenging part simply trying to understand how that goes over where need owww me brain!!! Note: I totally get that this was dev'd for MP, and I can see how the spawn rate/lvls/etc make sense to promote and reward a coordinated Team game, so please, the following isn't intended as "negative", simply one single players experiance. They consist of millions of tiny little squares which we call pixels. Today we will look at the basics of these to get a better understanding. Also, every single file format is giving you different options. Each of them has special software and needs, each of them is used for different purpose. For which projects I should use vector or raster?įor a digital artist, it is very important to understand the difference between vector and raster art.Which formats are used for each of them?.What is actually the difference between vector and raster?.jpeg, probably you have never downloaded a wallpaper then but do not worry, everyone has to start somewhere, someday! For the others who are just starting, it can be a little bit overwhelming – raster, vector, bitmap, pixel. If your project requires scalable shapes and solid colors, vector is the best choice, but if your project requires complex color blends, raster is the preferred format. If you are a photographer or designer, you probably know what you are dealing with. Raster images are best for digital photos and print materials. Their native files are needed for coin designs, laser engraving, t-shirts, patches, etc. They're also used in lower thirds for videos, web-based objects and rendering 2D or 3D computer animation. Raster-based software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop)Ī vector graphic's small file size and scalability make it uniquely suitable for use in digital printing from business cards to billboards.Vector-based software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator).Digital printing (e.g., business cards, billboards). However, a high resolution image printed at a small size will cause the pixels to "cram" together and will make the image look as unprofessional as not having enough pixels in a large image. ![]() Resolution limits the size the image can be scaled up without being able to see pixels. The lower the number of pixels, the lower the resolution. More pixels result in better quality at the same or larger sizes as the original, but this also increases the size of the file and the amount of space it takes to store the file. Each image can only contain a fixed number of pixels the amount of pixels determines the quality of the image. These images are created by digital cameras, by scanning images into a computer or with raster-based software. Pixels appear like little squares on graph paper when the image is zoomed in or enlarged. Raster images are made of pixels or tiny dots that use color and tone to produce the image. Because they consist of lines and anchor points, the size of the file is relatively small. ![]() These graphics are also device-independent, which means their quality doesn't depend on the number of dots available on a printer or the number of pixels on a screen. Their lines are sharp, without any loss in quality or detail, no matter what their size. Because these graphics are not based on pixels, they are known as resolution independent, which makes them infinitely scalable. These graphics consist of anchored dots and are connected by lines and curves, similar to the connect-the-dot activities you may have done as a kid. Vector graphics are also known as scalable vector graphics (SVG). ![]() ![]() You will then have to enter administrator password and click on "Install Software" button. Grab could also see its business affected as its customers grapple with inflation and rising interest rates, Assoc Prof Pangarkar said.Īcross its operations, Grab’s foray into the digital banking space will remain its “weakest link” with capital likely required to keep the new venture going, said Mr Tiruchelvam. In the beginning, there were direct drive extruders, they were heavy. While Southeast Asia remains a bright spot, growth could slow with the ongoing Ukraine war and declining demand from the United States, said Ms Yau. Grab is also not immune to an economic downturn in its key markets. “Human resource is a key component of costs, and it is important to manage them to achieve profits,” said Associate Professor Nitin Pangarkar from the National University of Singapore Business School. The company's aggressive hiring during the pandemic boom and rapidly rising salaries for tech roles also meant it had to be more judicious with staff costs, other experts said. “Grab’s management may have viewed its headcount as bloated,” said Mr Nirgunan Tiruchelvam, head of consumer and internet at investment advisory firm Aletheia Capital. ![]() The Singapore-based ride-hailing and food delivery giant said last September it had no plans for mass layoffs. But in December, it put a freeze on hiring and pay raises for senior managers, and slashed travel and expense budgets. ![]() One area that Grab needed to be leaner is in its staff count.Īs other technology firms axed jobs in the thousands, Grab added more than 3,000 employees last year, largely because of its acquisition of Malaysian supermarket chain Jaya Grocer. “There is a long journey ahead after breakeven.” “I actually think that Grab is confident about its breakeven target but as the fourth quarter approaches, they will need to think about what happens afterwards,” said Ms Yau. Rather, the firm is mulling over the route to take after turning a profit. In Grab’s case, the latest job cuts are unlikely to be due to investor pressure for profitability given how the firm has “a very healthy” net cash liquidity of US$5 billion at the end of the first quarter, Ms Yau told CNA. “Essentially they serve similar objectives – to make organisations leaner, more efficient and more adaptable to the changing market.” For tech companies, it happens on an even shorter cycle,” said Ms Vion Yau, insights lead at venture builder Momentum Works. “Corporate restructuring, cost-cutting and layoffs happen once every few years for large, established companies. That said, challenges lie ahead in the form of still-rising interest rates, a souring economic environment and the rise of artificial intelligence, they added. In a letter sent to employees, chief executive Anthony Tan said the cuts were a strategic reorganisation to adapt to the operating environment, and not “a shortcut to profitability”.Īnalysts agreed, noting that the company is “firmly” on the path to profitability, especially as demand for ride-hailing continues to recover across the region. It is targeting to hit adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) breakeven in the fourth quarter of this year. The retrenchments came as Grab is fighting to turn a profit and win back investors. The Nasdaq-listed technology firm said on Tuesday (Jun 20) it would be shedding 11 per cent of its workforce, its biggest round of job cuts since the pandemic. SINGAPORE: Grab’s decision to slash more than 1,000 jobs stems from the need to address a “bloated” headcount and remain nimble for challenges ahead, analysts told CNA. The message is placing the blame on the commander instead of on the individual where it rightfully belongs. It also manifests an "us versus them" mentality in the unit. Then when the individual's Enlisted Performance Report comes due, the easy way out is for the supervisor to tell the individual, "I think you deserve a five on your EPR, but the commander and first sergeant won't let me." The supervisor is undermining unity of command. This infraction was so severe it warranted the commander to issue the individual a Letter of Reprimand or Article 15 and start an Unfavorable Information File. Here's another example of how this break in unity of command can affect a unit: A supervisor has a troop who is a good performer throughout the year, but has a major infraction that reflects very unfavorably. Once a decision has been made, it can be detrimental to a unit if the NCOs and officers issuing the orders do not appear to give the orders their full support. However, once a decision is made to proceed a certain way, we owe it to our superiors and the Air Force to follow the orders to the best of our ability. Our life and work experiences shape how we think and act therefore, we may not always agree completely with the decisions our superiors make. This is an important aspect of unity of command. Simply put, it means one mission, one boss.Īnother aspect of unity of command is issuing orders to subordinates as if the orders were our own. It requires a single commander with the requisite authority to direct all forces in pursuit of a unified purpose. Under the principles of war, unity of command means that all the forces fall under one responsible commander. One such principle is "unity of command." This principle has stuck with me throughout my Air Force career. These military principles, to me as a military member, are equally important. However, I recall some military principles that have become less prominent. These core values are an essential part of our profession of arms. ![]() They are mighty words: "integrity first," "service before self," and "excellence in all we do." However, these aren't merely words these are the standards we live by as professional Airmen. ![]() These words have been so ingrained that we can repeat them as a reflex. In today's Air Force, we hear our core values on a daily basis. |
